Bioinformatics Server II at MML, SJTU

The Microbial Genomics and Bioinformatics Group at MML, SJTU is focused on in-depth mining of bacterial genomes by combination of bioinformatics approaches and molecular biology experimental techniques. The current work emphasizes:
(i) applied bioinformatics for comparative analysis of bacterial mobile genome;
(ii) characterization of novel mobile genetic elements in Klebsiella pneumoniae and other opportunistic bacterial pathogens that have developed antibiotic resistance, and the antibiotics-producing Streptomyces.

oriTfinder, a web-based tool for the identification of origin of transfers (oriT) in DNA sequences of bacterial mobile genetic elements.
VRprofile, gene-cluster-detection-based profiling of virulence and antibiotic resistance traits encoded within genome sequences of pathogenic bacteria.
mGenomeSubtractor, a web-based tool for parallel in silico subtractive hybridization analysis of multiple bacterial genomes.
